Disney decides to bring an android smartphone

| |
You learn something new every day. Disney Mobile
is a division of the entertainment giant that is
currently a small network operator in Japan and
they plan on releasing a phone under the Disney
brand. Two-timing are we, Disney? The phone will be powered by Google ’ s Android operating system, which normally wouldn ’ t be a very big deal if not for the fact that Disney ’ s largest shareholder is none other than Steve Jobs. Maybe
he’ s too busy dealing with other stuff, but Disney Mobile is a pretty small outfit so he probably just
doesn’ t care too much. Anyway, the phone will be a rebranding of the
Sharp Gapapagos 003SH, which has a 3.8-inch
screen that supports glasses-free 3D viewing. Aside
from that, the phone boasts of a 1GHz processor,
NFC support and a 9.6 megapixel camera, all this
running on Android 2.2 Froyo. In addition, Disney will be bundling a Disney email address, wallpapers
and other goodies like free cases along with this surprise.
