India to get first dual sim android phone

| |
We've seen a deluge of Android smartphones in
India, but what something that's slipped under the
radar is a dual-sim Android phone. That wait is
over now though, according to The Mobile Indian,
as Motorola is planning on launching its 3G enabled
Dual-Sim Android Smartphone, the XT800 Glam in India. The Glam has one GSM and one CDMA slot, so users
have some flexibility in terms of choices for phone
and data functions. The 3.7-inch (854x480)
touchscreen phone also has an HDMI-out port, GPS
and a 5 megapixel camera. Bluetooth, Wi-fi, 3G,
EDGE and GPRS round up the connectivity options for the phone which is supposedly coming pre-
loaded with Android 2.2 Froyo. Strangely enough, Motorola have already launched
an upgraded version of the phone, the XT800+, in
China. So are they dumping all the old stock of an
old phone here, or is it actually the newer model
that's making it here? We'll find out next week.
