Larry Page is the new CEO of Google

| |
after 10 years at the top of a company that has
revolutionized the online search market, Eric
Schmidt announced that from next April 4th will
no longer be the CEO of Google. His place will be
occupied by Larry Page, co-founder Sergey Brin,
together with the company in Mountain View. The decision has matured during the holidays at
the end of 2010. The triumvirate Schmidt / Page /
Brin have long discussed the desirability of
simplifying the management structure and more
streamlined decision-making procedures. Schmidt
will become Executive Chairman and will play a role of representation, while Brin will work on
new products.

In 2001 the two founders of Google had decided
to entrust the guidance of a professional
company that would give credibility to their
project, an experienced person capable of
guiding them in the right direction. But now his
task is finished and, as he says on Twitter, “ the daily supervision of an adult is no longer needed.
” In about 10 years, Google has grown from 200 to more than 24,000 employees, a global giant
with a turnover of 8.44 billion dollars and a net
profit of 2.54 billion dollars in the fourth quarter
of 2010.
