Samsung Galaxy S3: Features You Need To Know

| |
Samsung has launched its highly anticipated Galaxy S3 smartphone . While the phone certainly packs a punch when it comes to hardware specs, it’s the soft features and design that  impresses more. The features includes all new Exynos 4212 quad core 1.4 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED III 720p display, HD video recoding, 8 MP rear camera and 2100 mAh battery. The Galaxy S3 runs on Google’s most recent Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, complete with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface over the top.

The S3 has a number of notable features that make it stand out from the crowd. When it comes to the display S3 has a 4.8inch screen, making it bigger than its predecessor, the Galaxy S2 (which has a 4.3inch screen). The phone is curvy, thin and, at 133g, is one of the lightest phones around. S3 holds a sensor in the front which tracks the eye movement. The screen looks bright until you keep looking over the screen and when you move your head out of the display screen the screen turns dim and then darkens. This is really handy for people who read e-books or long articles and emails on their phone as they no need to keep touching the screen.
In particular, there is a new feature known as  Pop Out Video that enables you to quite literally ‘pop out’ a video from the player and have it playing in a small window while you perform other tasks, such as write an email or browse the web.
Direct Call uses the motion detector and proximity sensor inside the phone to guess when you want to make a call. So when you’re reading a text from a friend and move the handset up to your ear, it will automatically call that person.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 possesses an eight-megapixel main camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. Both are capable of 1080p and 720p HD video respectively, and you can even take still full-res pictures while filming.
The Galaxy S3 will be available in Samsung stores starting June 1. According to Samsung officials, the phone will be available at all other retail stores from June 4. The phone will retail at Rs43,180.
